Why — for every option
- A — Correct: monogamy applies in Germany; under § 1306 of the Civil Code, marriage is forbidden while another marriage already exists.
- B — Polygamy (multiple marriage) is expressly forbidden in Germany (§ 1306 Civil Code, § 172 Criminal Code — bigamy is a criminal offence).
- C — After a legally final divorce or the death of a spouse, one may remarry; there is no ban on remarriage.
- D — Widowed women may of course remarry; there is no such restriction.
