How many questions does the citizenship test have? 460, 310 or 33

The full catalogue has 460 questions, you study 310, and you answer 33 in the exam. Why different numbers appear everywhere — with sources.

Three numbers get confused constantly. 460 is the published catalogue: 300 federal questions plus 10 for each of the 16 states. 310 is what you personally study: the 300 federal questions plus the 10 for your own state — the other 15 states’ questions never appear in your test. 33 is how many you actually answer on the day: 30 federal and 3 from your state.
