Why — for every option
- A — A change of religion is protected by freedom of religion (Art. 4 Basic Law) and does not lead to a criminal trial.
- B — Correct: a criminal trial takes place when the public prosecutor's office, after investigations, brings charges over an alleged criminal offence (§ 170 Code of Criminal Procedure), on which the court then decides.
- C — A differing political opinion is protected by freedom of expression and does not give rise to a criminal trial.
