Which actions relating to the State of Israel are prohibited in Germany?

Why — for every option

  1. A — Publicly criticising a government's policy, including Israel's, is covered by freedom of expression (Art. 5 Basic Law).
  2. B — Displaying a foreign flag on private property is generally permitted and not a criminal offence.
  3. C — Factual discussion of politics, including about Israel, is permitted and an expression of freedom of speech.
  4. D — Correct: publicly calling for the destruction of a state and its population fulfils the offence of incitement to hatred (§ 130 Criminal Code) and is punishable — this applies regardless of which state is concerned, and here explicitly to Israel as well.
